Haugesund – Bømlo – Stord – Austvoll – Bergen

The trip is a continuing of the North sea route from Egersund to Haugesund and further to Bergen, but is also suitable for a single short trip. The trip goes through rolling coast landscape, and gives you a nice experience of sea, nature and landscape with small villages, farms and animals. Bømlo and Stord are connected with two suspension bridges, with walk- and bike road. From here you have a nice view to fjords and mountains. Between the bridges, there are picnic areas and nice possibilities for a swim. If you want a break from all the biking, what a bout a trip with a ferry?
We recommend a detour to Mosterhamn, an important center in the Viking age, with exhibition and a stone church from the 12 century. The trip can be made between May 15th - September 14th.

Difficulty with rental bikes on this tour.  One alternative is to rent bikes in Bergen, go by Expressboat to Haugesund and bike back to Bergen.  Price for rental bikes NOK 750,-.

Day:
1. Arrival in Haugsund. Accommodation.
2. Haugesund – Buavåg – 29 km. Ferry to Langevåg. Langevåg – Rubbestadneset – 24 km. Average day trip.
    From Haugesund to Buavåg you are on a rolling road with some traffic. The road keeps rolling from Langevåg to
    Rubbestadneset, with some steep hills through the heather.
3. Rubbestadneset – Leirvik – Sandvikvåg – 45 km.  Ferry to Husavik. Cycle to Bekkjarvik – 4 km.  Average day trip.
4. Bekkjarvik – Hufthamar – 20 km.  Ferry to Krokeidet.  Krokeidet – Bergen – 30 km. Average day trip.
    At the beginning of this stage you cycle along the RR 546, afterwards mostly on bicyle paths.
5. Departure/ return to the starting point.

We recommend an extra day in Bergen.
