In the centre of Gudbrandsdalen Valley, between Lillehammer and Vinstra in the southeast of Norway, you find the kingdom of Ibsen's legendary Norse folk hero, Peer Gynt. A magnificent area of outstanding natural beauty where Peer Gynt found tranquility and inspiration for many of his fantasies. He may well have been a boaster and a dreamer, but a visit to his kingdom will convince you that he had good reasons for praising his home in such exaggerated manners. 'In the footsteps of Peer Gynt', our popular mountain hike from hotel to hotel, starts at Skeikampen and ends in Espedalen, about 67 km as the crow flies. If you are looking for a challenge, but in a safe form and without the drudgery of exhausting climbs with heavy rucksacks, this tour is perfectly suited for you. You will take a packed lunch with you and enjoy the breathtaking panorama of the National parks of Jotunheimen and Rondane mountain ranges. During the trip the guide will tell you interesting facts about life in the mountains, nature and the animal world. To each hotel inheres its own history and special atmosphere, and the guide and the hotel staff will do their best to let you share this and make you part of it.

Day 1: Arrival at the Thon Hotel Gausdal, Skeikampen for dinner (at 7 pm), overnight. Information about the trip.
Day 2: Walking from Skeikampen to Fagerhøi, approx. 18 km/6-7 hours.
The trail follows an old country road. If the weather is nice, we will climb up to Præstkampen (1244 m.a.s.l.) to enjoy a 
panoramic view of the Jotunheimen and Rondane mountains. After lunch we continue the tour across accesible and varied terrain to Fagerhøi. Dinner and overnight stay at Gudbrandsdal Leirskole Fagerhøi.
Day 3: A walking tour from Fagerhøi to Gålå, approx. 16 km/4-5 hours.        
Accesible and easy terrain,crossing birch woods at Lauvåsen and Bjørkåsen, leading to an old hunting lodge.
At Lauvåsen we will be served 'rømmegrøt', Norwegian porridge, for lunch. 
Dinner and overnight stay at Gålå Høgfjellshotell & Hytter or Wadahl Høyfjellshotell.
After dinner we walk together to the amphi, were we will see the Peer Gynt outdoor theatre.
Day 4: Walking from Gålå to Fefor, approx. 15 km/5-6 hours.
The route passes the Solbraa Mountain Museum, which shows how locals survived in the mountains more than a century ago.
Then we climb up to Valsfjell (1148 m.a.s.l.) and continue down to Feforvatnet (lake).
Dinner and overnight stay at Fefor Høyfjellshotell
Day 5:  Walking from Fefor to Espedalen, approx. 18km/6 - 7 hours. The day starts with a challenging climb, the path taking us up more than 1500m above sea level, providing a magnificent view of the Jotunheimen mountain range. Easy walk down to Espedalen. 
Dinner and overnight stay at Dalseter Høyfjellshotell or Ruten Fjellstue.
Day 6: Departure. Transport by car/bus to the startingpoint Skeikampen.
